Blanket

So I've never made a blanket yet. Always wanted to but it's such a commitment. It takes time and lots of skeins and you have to pick the right colors.......

Such a commitment!

So I've been starting to get my thinking towards summer (since winter won't let go in Minnesota!) and it made me think of our county fair. Last couple years I would walk through the open class section and see all the art, flowers, baked good and saw that they had crochet and knitting. How great would it feel to win some awards on my crocheting! It would mean so much to be admired by others from my craft. 

Anyways I want to add many items but one was a blanket and since my attention span can be very low, I better start now so I can take breaks and have time.

So here's my blanket!

Boy was I surprised how long it took me to choose the colors that worked well together. Wanted it to be colorful and an eye grabber. I worked with what I had and came up with this combo.

It's really coming along faster than I thought. I love this pattern. Looks so good with the Caron simply soft yarn. 

Want to try with red heart super saver but not sure if it will look as soft.

Not halfway there yet but slow and steady......

Hope it will be a winner at the fair!

Found a random saved ribbon to complete my gift bag. Tah-dah!!!

Sunny Day

Woke up this morning to a beautiful sunny day. Too bad its freezing out....-20 I think! Hot coffee will flow thick in my veins today (same as every other)!
I had a goal this morning that I actually dreamed about last night.

I wanted to work on some charted crochet projects. Practice some of my color changing skills.
It's one of the things I've shied away from because it always seemed intimidating and hard.
Lucky me, in my inbox this morning is a perfect color changing pattern that was linked by one of the blogs I subscribe to. HERE  is the link I got to the heart bag.

Before you ask, it's a little treat bag!

I'm missing the ribbon on the top to cinch but you get the idea.

What a nice small project to do over coffee and under my warm blanket.

Hearts and more hearts

LOVE

So one of my favorite holidays is Valentines Day and not why you probably think.

It's because I adore LOVE!

It my mantra. I believe as long as you try to find love in all points of your life, your on the right path.

So it has nothing to do with the cards or roses or anything .... It's just about a day about love.... To your mate, your family, your friends, your kids......

I love it!

I've made many decorations around the house to bring out the Love:)

The beginning

And here is the very post. I love crochet! I worked very hard and taught myself how to crochet by loaning books from the library, watching YouTube videos and tutorials. I buckled down and mastered the chain then the single crochet and so on.....
It's such a great craft because there is always new things to learn.
I'm not an expert but I want to learn to be.
